According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m. on North W Street, just north of Van Pelt Lane.
Troopers reported that the pedestrian was walking westward across North W Street in front of a Casey’s gas station when he entered the path of a southbound sedan operated by a 77-year-old Pensacola woman.
Emergency Response to Fatal Pedestrian Crash North W Street Pensacola
The driver was unable to see the man in time to avoid the collision, FHP said.
Escambia County emergency medical personnel transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver was wearing her seat belt and was not injured in the crash.
In accordance with Florida Highway Patrol policy regarding victim notification and Marsy’s Law, the names of the individuals involved have not been publicly released
