A dedicated woman of faith, Rose was an active member of Escambia Chapel AME Zion Church after previously worshipping at Greater Little Zion. Her strong Christian values shone through in her compassionate interactions with others, and she was admired for her kindness and nurturing spirit.

Throughout her life, Rose served as a caregiver and hospitality attendant, exemplifying grace, dignity, and a gentle demeanor. Family and friends described her as a true lady, embodying elegance and wisdom.

Rose found joy in church activities, family gatherings, and her love for roses. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, always opening her home and heart to others. Her life was a model of faith, strength, and unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Pettiway Sr., her parents, and several family members, including her son, Lawinfre Pettiway. Rose is survived by her daughters, Tracy Pettiway Smith and Debbie Watson, along with her stepchildren and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

Rose shared a profound bond with her close friends, whom she considered sisters. Together, they supported each other through laughter, prayers, and love. Though her passing leaves a significant void, her legacy of faith and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her.
