Remembering Marjorie “Margie” McClain Warsing

Marjorie “Margie” McClain Warsing, aged 84, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026. A Brewton, Alabama native, Margie was born on July 15, 1941, to Henry and Ella Mae McClain. Her life was marked by strong values, deep faith, and a sincere love for people.

A graduate of Escambia High School’s class of 1958, Margie met her husband, Robert L. Warsing, while he was stationed nearby with the United States Navy. They married on September 11, 1961, before welcoming their son, Robert Scott, in Hawaii, and daughter, Karen Renea, in the Philippines.

Margie was an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church, where she shared her musical talents as a pianist and choir member, uplifting her community with her voice. Known for her warm spirit and constant encouragement, she left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She began her career at the Escambia County Tax Collector’s Office and later spent 20 years in Federal Civil Service, where her dedication and integrity were well recognized.

Throughout her life, Margie found joy in the company of her dogs, who were beloved companions and sources of comfort. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dan Giovenco; her aunt, Johnnie Terrell; and her sister-in-law, Janet McCain, along with their families.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, son, and brother. In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial contributions be made to the Dementia Society of America in her memory.
