Remembering Andrew Charles Bauer: A Life of Service and Family

Andrew Charles Bauer, a cherished member of the Pensacola community, passed away on April 29, 2026, at the age of 51. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 28 years, Alexa Bauer, along with his parents, Noel and Marcia K. Bauer, two daughters, Coral Tornabell and Skye Bauer, and son-in-law Calvin Tornabell.

Born on November 18, 1974, in Ocala, Florida, Andrew spent his early years in West Sayville, New York, where he created lasting memories with his family. His childhood was filled with traditions, including watching the movie Snow Day each Christmas and sharing stories about snow days that kept him out of school.

In 1989, Andrew’s family relocated back to Florida, settling in Satellite Beach. It was here that he developed a passion for surfing, often prioritizing the waves over school. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1997, marrying Alexa in 1998 shortly after completing his training. The couple welcomed their first daughter in 1999 and another in 2001, solidifying the family that Andrew adored.

Throughout his life, Andrew was known for his dedication to his family and his unwavering support for them. He served 22 years in the Marine Corps, retiring as a Master Sergeant, while also working as an aircraft mechanic with V2X in retirement. He was a mentor to many, often inspiring others with his passion for teaching, influenced by his brother-in-law.

Andrew’s love for family extended to his parents and in-laws, Dwyane and Debra Thompson, as well as his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, who played significant roles in his life. He enjoyed spending weekends on his boat with family and friends, often fishing for mahi-mahi to prepare his renowned fish tacos.

Known for his sense of humor, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family, Andrew will be missed by all who knew him. To honor his memory, donations to military or veteran charities are encouraged in lieu of flowers. A celebration of his life will be planned for later this year, inviting those touched by Andrew to share their memories.
