Will Condon Named Chief Executive Officer of Ascension Sacred Heart Health System

Pensacola, Fl. NewsWK —In a major corporate shifting of pieces within Northwest Florida’s healthcare sector, Ascension Florida has announced the formal appointment of Will Condon as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ascension Sacred Heart Health System.

The promotion formalizes Condon’s leadership over the regional network. He recently stepped up as the interim market lead following a successful three-year tenure as the Pensacola market president. His transition into the official CEO role takes effect on July 1, 2026.

Part of a Broader Statewide Restructuring

The executive shift is part of a larger structural reorganization by parent organization Ascension. The health system is establishing Ascension Florida East and Ascension Florida West as distinct regional markets. This strategic split allows each division to independently target its unique healthcare needs, growth opportunities, and regional competitive landscapes.

While Scott Kashman has been tapped to lead the Ascension St. Vincent’s system on the East Coast in Jacksonville, Condon will take full ownership of the expansive West market.

Overseeing a Massive Regional Footprint

Condon steps into the corner office during a busy summer session as healthcare systems align more heavily with local safety initiatives. As CEO, he assumes operational responsibility for a massive healthcare footprint that serves families across the entire Florida Panhandle. His purview encompasses a five-hospital ministry, which includes:

  • Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola
  • Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart
  • Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast (Miramar Beach)
  • Ascension Sacred Heart Bay (Panama City)
  • Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf (Port St. Joe)

In addition to the core hospitals, the system manages 108 Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Group locations stretching from Perdido to Apalachicola. Together, the network accommodates nearly 1.3 million patient visits annually.

A Homegrown Healthcare Leader

Condon brings deep personal and professional roots to the position. A native of Pensacola, he graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School before earning both his Bachelor’s in Communications and his Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of West Florida. In a literal full-circle journey, Condon is now leading the very hospital system where he was born.

His career trajectory within Sacred Heart spans 15 years, starting from the ground up. He entered the organization in 2010 as a marketing communications coordinator. He steadily climbed the ranks to Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Ascension Florida, and later served five years as the president of the Studer Family Children’s Hospital, helping spearhead the opening of its new state-of-the-art facility in 2019.

During his subsequent tenure as president of the primary Pensacola campus, the hospital secured a Leapfrog Health Grade “A” for five consecutive years, ranked among the nation’s top 50 cardiovascular providers, and successfully established Northwest Florida’s only Level I Trauma Center.

Grounded in Community Trust

Condon’s appointment reinforces a focus on local community relationships. Beyond his executive duties, he maintains deep local ties, serving on the boards of the Health and Hope Clinic as well as the Gulf Coast Kids House.

“Ascension Sacred Heart has earned the trust of this community over the decades,” Condon said regarding the announcement. “My role is to build on that foundation by growing the services people need here, close to home, and to make sure this region has access to care that rivals any major market in the country.”

Condon will continue to directly support the operations of the Studer Family Children’s Hospital until a successor is named to take over his previous role as pediatric president.
