Stroberger To Host District 1 Town Hall Tuesday On Controversial Pine Forest Projects
Last updated:
Pensacola, Fl. NewsWK — Escambia County District 1 Commissioner Steve Stroberger will host a public town hall meeting tomorrow evening to address brewing neighborhood frustrations over commercial development plans in the Pine Forest area.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Bellview Library, located at 6425 Mobile Highway.
According to official county schedules, the open forum is designed to give local property owners and neighborhood groups a direct platform to air concerns regarding two highly controversial zoning and utility proposals: a proposed Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) transfer station on Pine Forest Road and an ongoing debris pit operation located on Bankhead Drive.
The proposals have sparked pushback from local residents, many of whom express concern over potential impacts on traffic safety, residential property values, and environmental quality. County officials are anticipating a high public turnout as community leaders mobilize families from the surrounding subdivisions to voice their opposition.
Commissioner Stroberger and county staff are slated to attend to provide project overviews, answer questions, and gather public feedback ahead of future Board of County Commissioners votes. Local residents are strongly encouraged to arrive early to secure seating.
