Remembering Sandra Kay Miller: A Life of Love and Service in Pensacola

Sandra Kay (Holifield) Miller passed away on July 19, 2026, in Pensacola, Florida, surrounded by her family. Born to Herbert and Josephine Holifield, she was the middle child in a family of eleven. Sandra graduated from Pensacola High School in 1962 and began her career at Sears before marrying Eugene “Gene” Miller, a Naval Flight Student, on January 22, 1966. Their marriage lasted over sixty years, marked by love and partnership.

During Gene’s military career, the couple initially settled in San Diego, California, and later returned to Pensacola, where they raised five children. Sandra was a dedicated homemaker, known for creating a warm, loving environment filled with joy and faith. She cherished family gatherings, especially during holidays, fostering traditions that will continue for generations.

As her family grew, Sandra embraced her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others. She worked for 16 years as a one-year-old teacher at La Petite Academy, positively impacting many young lives even while bravely fighting breast cancer.

A devout Catholic, Sandra instilled her faith in her children and lived out Christian values through her compassion and love for others. She is preceded in death by her son, Stephen Miller, who passed away in 2015. Sandra is survived by her husband, Gene, daughters Lisa Suggs, Marci Jones, and Cathy Garcia (Tony), son Kenny Miller, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her family and friends will deeply miss her, finding solace in the belief that she has been welcomed into the arms of her Lord. A visitation will take place from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel, with Fr. George Thekku officiating. A committal service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
