  • Motorcycle Club Member Sentenced to 7 Years: Gregory E. Simonds Jr., 43, of Pensacola, has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison. The sentence stems from an incident where Simonds detonated an explosive during an altercation in a Harley Davidson parking lot in Fort Walton Beach, damaging a nearby restaurant. A subsequent search of his vehicle and home uncovered multiple additional explosive devices and materials.
  • Former Union Treasurer Pleads Guilty to Fraud: Clarence Penny, 40, of Pace, Florida, has pleaded guilty in federal court to eight counts of bank fraud, one count of embezzlement of labor union funds, and three counts of falsifying financial reports. Prosecutors stated Penny used his position of trust to enrich himself with dues paid by his colleagues.
