Remembering Brenda J. Stewart: A Life of Love in Pensacola

Brenda J. Stewart, a cherished resident of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on May 29, 2026. Born on November 26, 1942, in Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of Sarah Ruth (Young) and Horace Kelley Prichard.

Brenda was known for her unwavering devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her strength and commitment to her loved ones defined her life. Although she kept her early years private, her journey truly began in 1958 when she married Robert E. Stewart, who had a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy. During his numerous overseas deployments, she was the steadfast anchor of their family.

As her sons grew into adulthood, Brenda explored her passions, notably serving as a volunteer teacher assistant at Sherwood Elementary School in Pensacola. She took immense pride in her work with the children, often speaking of them with the same love she had for her own family. Additionally, Brenda was a talented seamstress, building a loyal clientele in the community.

Brenda leaves behind a legacy of love that has touched not only her family but also many friends across Pensacola. She is survived by her three sons, Kent, Karl, and Keith Stewart; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 10:30 AM on June 15, 2026, with Rev. Fred Zobel officiating. Following the service, a committal will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery.
