Remembering James Anthony Williams: A Life of Faith and Community in Pensacola

James Anthony Williams, Sr., affectionately known as Tony, passed away at the age of 71 on June 28, 2026, at his home in Pensacola, Florida. Surrounded by his loving wife of 25 years, Magdaline Williams, he left behind a legacy rooted in faith and community service.

Born on December 13, 1954, in Brewton, Alabama, Tony faced significant challenges early in life after losing his mother at just eight years old. Despite these hardships, he dedicated his life to the Lord at a young age, preaching his first sermon at age 13 from the Book of Revelation. His commitment to sharing his faith led him to teach about current and prophetic events, despite the controversial nature of his messages.

In the 1980s, Tony expanded his outreach by taking to television, where he produced programs like “Prophecy Talk” and “Youth on the Move for Christ.” These shows aired on WBQP TV, where he worked closely with station owner Vernon Watson to provide airtime for local churches. He was also a regular guest on WRNE 980 Radio, where he engaged with listeners on topics related to his teachings.

Beyond his media presence, Tony also offered his skills as a videographer for weddings and special church events. He was known for his great sense of humor and loved to uplift those around him. A cherished biblical verse for him was Romans 8:28, reminding all that good can arise from life’s challenges.

Tony was preceded in death by his beloved son, James Anthony Williams, who passed away on July 18, 2024. He is survived by his wife, three stepchildren, eight grandchildren, one sister, and numerous relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Westside Ministry, with a public viewing scheduled for Friday, July 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
