Joseph Paul “Joey” Frederick, a beloved 57-year-old resident of Pensacola, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 31, 2026. Born on April 18, 1969, in Amory, Mississippi, Joey was the son of John William Frederick and Beverly Nichols Frederick.

Joey spent 31 years married to Rebekah Roberts Frederick, and together they raised their son, Alexander Sidney Frederick, born on May 4, 1998. Joey was a proud grandfather to Adelynn Tanner and Clayton Frederick, and he cherished every moment with his grandchildren.

Frederick was a dedicated employee at the Department of the Navy Security Forces at the Pensacola Naval Air Station, where he valued the friendships he developed with his colleagues. He graduated from Escambia High School in 1987, excelling both academically and athletically as the defensive captain of the football team, leading to two state championships.

A passionate sports fan, Joey remained a loyal supporter of the University of Florida throughout his life. His love for football, baseball, weightlifting, fishing, and spending time outdoors showcased his vibrant spirit. Joey also had a deep affection for animals, known for his gentle and caring nature.

Joey is survived by his wife Rebekah, son Alex, grandchildren, father John W. Frederick, and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and father-in-law Sidney Roberts, Jr.

His family and friends will celebrate Joey’s life soon, reflecting on the joy and kindness he brought to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength.
