Remembering Kathy Goodwin: A Life of Love and Faith in Molino, Florida

Kathy Lynn “Blackburn” Goodwin, a 67-year-old resident of Molino, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on June 8, 2026. Born on September 29, 1958, in Pensacola, Kathy was the daughter of Donald Lee Blackburn and Myrtle Irene (Boyd) Blackburn.

Kathy is survived by her beloved son, Andrew “Andy” Garrett Goodwin, her brother Rex Blackburn, and numerous cherished nieces and nephews. She was also close to many special friends, including Theresa Walters and George Overby.

Throughout her life, Kathy was a strong and independent woman, dedicated to her son and community. Andy described her as a patient mother who worked diligently to guide him in his journey of faith. She was known for her humor, strong will, and her ability to love deeply.

Faith was central to Kathy’s life. She dedicated herself to Jesus Christ, striving to instill that same faith in her son. Her guiding principles included loving the Lord wholeheartedly, helping others, seeing the best in people, and maintaining a spirit of kindness and laughter.

Kathy’s legacy is marked by resilience and devotion to her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A memorial and interment service will be held at Whitmire Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida, in the near future.
