Overnight Disturbance Leads to Aggravated Assault Charge

A 56-year-old Walnut Hill resident was taken into custody by Escambia County Sheriff‘s deputies following an overnight disturbance involving gunfire off Pineville Road in northern Escambia County.

Ricky Eugene Foster was booked into the Escambia County Jail and charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, according to law enforcement records.

Allegations of Threat and Gunfire

According to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, deputies dispatched to the scene following reports of shots fired in the Pineville Road area. The victim reported that Foster blocked their vehicle, pointed a handgun at them while making explicit death threats, and ordered them to leave the property.

When interviewed by responding deputies, Foster admitted to discharging a firearm during the argument. However, Foster told law enforcement officers that he fired the handgun straight into the air rather than aiming at anyone.

Release on Bond

Following his arrest and booking, Foster was released from the Escambia County Jail after posting a $5,000 bond, according to jail records.
