Matthew Garrett Dunn, a 31-year-old resident of Milton, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2026. Born on July 14, 1994, in Wichita, Kansas, Matthew was raised in a military family, spending part of his early years in Washington State before settling in Bakersfield, California.

A proud graduate of Frontier High School, he was part of the Class of 2012 and was actively involved in sports, notably excelling in pole vaulting. Matthew also participated in the school’s mixed and men’s choirs.

After high school, he attended Bakersfield College and continued his passion for track and field, later transferring to the University of La Verne to pursue a degree in computer science. Matthew eventually made his way to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he worked as a superintendent for a residential construction firm and became engaged to Jennifer Brant.

In pursuit of a sunnier climate, they moved to Florida, trading the mountains of Utah for the state’s beautiful beaches and fishing spots. Matthew is remembered for his generous spirit and kindness, always ready to help those in need and bring joy to those around him.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Brandon and Chelle Dunn; his siblings, Taylor and Collin Dunn; and several grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Jacob and Joshua Dunn, and his grandmother, Claudia Estrada.

A memorial service celebrating Matthew’s life is scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the chapel, the Sean Flynn Blue Skies Foundation, and all the friends and family who have offered support during this difficult time.
