PENSACOLA, FL — As families prepare for the upcoming school year, the City of Pensacola Parks & Recreation Department has officially opened registration for its 2026-2027 After-School Program. The program is designed to provide a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for local children ages 5 to 12.
📍 Locations and Registration
Enrollment for new participants is now open. Because space is limited to 240 total participants and programs fill quickly, city officials encourage families to register as soon as possible. Registration must be completed in-person at one of the following participating resource centers:
- Cobb Resource Center: 601 E Mallory St.
- Gull Point Resource Center: 7000 Spanish Trail
- Woodland Heights Resource Center: 111 Berkley Dr.
💰 Program Costs & Escambia Children’s Trust Partnership
The after-school program operates weekly. Standard pricing is set at $55 per child for City of Pensacola residents and $70 per child for non-city residents.
However, thanks to a continued community partnership with the Escambia Children’s Trust, up to 175 eligible participants can attend the program at no cost. In addition to waived fees, this partnership provides students with healthy snacks, an enhanced educational curriculum, new sports equipment, and additional staffing to ensure a safe and engaging environment.
📚 Activities and Curriculum
Each afternoon, participants will engage in structured activities tailored to support academic growth, creativity, and healthy lifestyles. Daily programming includes:
- Homework help and dedicated tutoring.
- STEM-based learning and discovery activities.
- Creative arts and crafts projects.
- Indoor and outdoor sports and recreation.
Parents interested in the program should also contact the Escambia County School District Transportation Office to verify bus route availability from their child’s school directly to their chosen resource center.
