In Loving Memory of Lloyd Aaron Fowler

Lloyd Aaron Fowler, a resident of Santa Rosa County for his entire life, passed away at the age of 95 on June 26, 2026. Born on September 21, 1930, in Munson, Florida, he was the son of Rev. William Riley Fowler and Virginia Crain Fowler.

After serving honorably in the United States Air Force and being discharged in 1953, Lloyd began his career as a mechanic at Chemstrand, which later became known as Monsanto. During this time, he met Myrtle Parrish in the company cafeteria, and the two married on August 27, 1955. Together, they raised three daughters: Rhonda, Patrice, and Sheri. Lloyd dedicated nearly 40 years to his work at Monsanto, retiring in January 1993.

Beyond his career, Lloyd was passionate about serving others and sharing his faith. He and Myrtle established a Southern Gospel quartet in 1965, performing across the Southeast for nearly two decades. Additionally, he hosted the popular radio program, Suppertime Gospel, which inspired many listeners.

His commitment to his church was evident in numerous roles he undertook, including Junior Boys Sunday School teacher, Royal Rangers leader, church deacon, and Men’s Ministry director. Lloyd’s faith and dedication left a lasting impact on many in the community.

He also cared deeply for the senior citizens of Santa Rosa County, organizing the annual Golden Agers Concerts, which became a beloved tradition. Along with Myrtle, he worked tirelessly to gather donations for local elderly residents, ensuring they felt appreciated.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 70 years, Myrtle Fowler; daughters Rhonda Rhodes (Ken Boykin), Patrice (Dan) Dilley, and Sheri (John) Raley; grandchildren Eric (Melody) Wilkinson, Brock (Tiffany) Stewart, Brian (Rachel) Rhodes, Garrett Gruber, Rebecca Raley, and Brett Raley; and great-grandsons Jacob, William, and Shaun Stewart. He is also remembered fondly by extended family, friends, and all who experienced his kindness and humor.

The family extends special thanks to Lloyd’s niece, Donna Fowler, for her devoted care during his final years.

A celebration of Lloyd’s life will occur on July 2 at Bagdad Assembly of God, located at 4513 Forsyth Street, Bagdad, Florida 32530. Visitation is scheduled from 12:30 to 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 1:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Mike Poston.

Lloyd’s legacy is marked by his unwavering faith, devoted love for his family, and a lifetime devoted to serving both God and the community. While he will be missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace with his Savior.
