MMCM Teddy Earl Vaughan, a longtime resident of Milton, Florida, passed away on May 19, 2026, at 81 years old, surrounded by family at Sacred Heart Ascension in Pensacola.

Originally from Stewart County, Tennessee, Ted graduated from Stewart County High School in 1962 and later attended Austin Peay State University. His dedication to service led him to a distinguished 30-year career in the United States Navy, culminating in his retirement in 1994.

After his naval service, Ted enjoyed a second career as a Pit Boss in Biloxi, Mississippi, where he embraced his passion for poker. Known for his adventurous spirit, he traveled extensively, particularly cherishing his salmon fishing trips to Alaska with family.

Ted was also deeply involved in his family’s sports activities, coaching baseball for his son and stepsons, and attending every grandchild’s game, rain or shine. His storytelling ability and love for the game made him a beloved figure among family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Albert “Skeeter” Vaughan and his wife Tiffany, along with stepchildren Robert Moore and his wife Judy, Jerrie Brown and her husband Ian, and Timothy Moore and his wife Sarah. Ted’s legacy continues through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will remember him for his strength and love.

The family plans to hold a private memorial celebration to honor his memory.
