Remembering Ronald “Steve” King, Sr.: A Life of Kindness and Faith

Ronald “Steve” King, Sr., a cherished resident of Pensacola, passed away on June 3, 2026, after bravely battling bladder cancer. He was 79 years old.

Born on June 6, 1946, in Pensacola, Steve’s life was marked by his unwavering faith in the Lord and his genuine kindness toward others. Known for his friendly demeanor, he had a special talent for making those around him feel welcomed and valued.

Steve proudly served in the U.S. Army, with deployments in Germany and Okinawa. After his military service, he dedicated many years to working in the Cerax division at Monsanto and was an active member of the Scenic Hills Church of Christ.

Family was at the heart of Steve’s life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lola Meredith King. He leaves behind his son, Steve King, Jr. (Hannah), grandchildren Audra and Owen Davis, and other family members who will miss him dearly.

In his younger years, Steve enjoyed bowling and golfing, and he was an enthusiastic sports fan, frequently attending his son’s athletic events. His family fondly remembers his joyful spirit and the pride he took in their accomplishments.

Steve’s legacy is reflected in the love and compassion he shared with everyone he met. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the positive impact he had on the community.

A visitation and service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Faith Chapel North. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s or Wounded Warriors.

The family expresses their deep gratitude for the support, prayers, and kindness received during Steve’s final days, especially thanking friends like Jerry Caine and Kathy Ellis for their unwavering support.
