Special Weather Statement: Baldwin Coastal; Escambia Coastal
The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for coastal Escambia and Baldwin counties. Strong thunderstorms bringing 40 mph wind gusts, frequent lightning, and torrential rain threaten West Pensacola, Warrington, Pensacola Beach, Lillian, and nearby communities.

At 604 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Lillian to 3 miles south of Oriole Beach.
Movement was southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include…
West Pensacola, Warrington, Lillian, Myrtle Grove, Perdido Beach, and
Pensacola Beach.
Precautionary / preparedness actions
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
