Special Weather Statement: Clarke; Monroe; Conecuh; Escambia; Baldwin Inland; Escambia Inland

The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement for inland Escambia and Baldwin counties, tracking strong thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 40 mph moving southeast toward areas including Atmore, Bratt, and Poarch Creek Reservation.

At 744 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 5 miles east of Whatley to 7 miles west of
Poarch Creek Reservation. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Atmore, Monroeville, Frisco City, Grove Hill, McCullough, Uriah,
Whatley, Excel, Repton, Bratt, I65 And CR 1, I65 And AL 113, I65 And
AL 21, and Poarch Creek Reservation.

Precautionary / preparedness actions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
south central and southwestern Alabama…and northwestern Florida.
