Pensacola resident Tristan McKenzie Edwards, 26, tragically lost his life in a car accident on May 27, 2026. This heartbreaking incident also claimed the life of his father, Stephen Edwards.
Born on August 22, 1999, Tristan was known for his loving spirit and strong connections with family and friends. He cherished moments spent with his sister, Hailey, and enjoyed participating in car meets, fishing trips, and beach outings. His close friend, Woody, along with a long-term gaming buddy, Brian Massarelli from New Jersey, were significant parts of his life.
Tristan worked at Native Café on the beach for six years before joining The Pointe in Gulf Breeze, where he had been employed for the last three years. He had a fondness for local favorites, especially Waffle House, and had a special love for his mother and grandmother’s potato salad.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Myrick (Chris), sister Hailey Edwards, and several grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, several family members, and friends.
The family has requested that attendees of the memorial service wear purple and a black cowboy hat in honor of Tristan’s vibrant personality.
