Special Weather Statement Baldwin County: Strong Winds and Storms Moving Inland

The National Weather Service in Mobile issued a Special Weather Statement for inland Mobile, Baldwin, and Escambia counties. Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm producing wind gusts up to 50 mph, torrential rain, and lightning near Bay Minette and Stockton.

At 352 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles southwest of Bratt, or 10 miles southwest of Atmore, moving
northwest at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Bay Minette, Stockton, and I65 And AL 225.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Bay Minette Weather Update: Storm Hazards and Precautions

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
